Re: X-Life ver 1.0 (rc1, r1, ++)

Flight form KSEA Seattle to KSFO San Fran perfect! All deluxe functions work as they should for me. I downloaded both airports from the WED scenery gateway as I do with all airports, customized them both for my liking and created the ATC taxi routes and .dat files. It took me awhile to learn exactly what to do to make everything work, but I will say this is a great traffic plugin. The amount of traffic is good and it was busy leaving KSEA! Had to wait in line for a bit. Nice realism. There are very few go arounds with landing traffic the AI code is nicely written. Planes stay nicely separated, and the taxi speeds are realistic. I have done many flights using different airports. All good here. It's amazing to think of the future potential for X-Life as it furthers development. Well done JAR! Looking forward to the future.

First thank you for this Great Plug-In! It gives so much life!

Did a Flight from LFMN (Nice) to LSZH (Zurich), did get BERSI1G Arrival for ILS Runway 32...
Well, Runway 32 in LSZH does not have any ILS sad

How can i correct this?

  Runway 10 (096°)   VISUAL
  Runway 28 (276°)   ILS/DME
Runway 14 (137°)   ILS (CAT IIIb)
  Runway 32 (317°)   VISUAL
Runway 16 (155°)   ILS (CAT IIIb)
  Runway 34 (335°)   ILS/DME

Hello,

One question: Why X-Life does not utilize the 1204 parameter of apt.dat of ATC taxi routes indicating hold short points, but instead requires hold short point to be one line segment away from the runway? It makes possible to put hold short points further away from runway, which is often necessary. It can also limit the hold short for arrivals or departures only if required.

For example:
1202 41 40 twoway taxiway A
1204 departure 03,21
1204 arrival 03,21

Means that the line segment between points 41&40 denotes a "restricted" area which you can't enter before the tower gives you permission for it (runway 03/21 is free).

I would start with removing Airport Navigator. It might interfere with X-Life's own Follow Me Car

Very strange.
XL always worked very good on my system.
Now for some reason there is no aircraft at EGLL.
Only when EGLL is destination.
All my other (XL approved) airports are working perfectly.

Hello,

first of all I want to thank JARDesign for this great piece of software ! I really enjoy the simple way AI traffic can be injected
into x-plane and how easy it is to correct errors. It's really nice to see how everything is working the way it's supposed to be when 'finishing' a new airport.
The only thing that strikes me are same problems as mentioned above.
I have these problems with two german airfields:
EDCW is recognized as EDOP, EDAZ as ETSH and can not be edited with the Gates Editor.
Looking up EDAZ and EDCW in \default data\earth-nav.dat showed that these Airfields don't have any entries.
In contradiction to this KORS (Orcas Island, WA) does also not have an entry but was recognized By X-Life and could be edited with the Gates Editor.
So hopefully there will be a fix for this issue or at least an explanation.
So Thanks again for Your work and best regards,
Mike.

Hi

A fly from LFPO to LFBO ... everything went well but  ...

with ATIS giving 14L or 14R rwy in use for landing at LFBO , X-life gave me RWY 32 R ...

X-life approach confirmed clearance for landing on RWY 32 R with wind coming from 140° ...

Strange isn't it ?

Good day,
Great report so, to finish up please attach your log txt so we can get the data from your set-up this will help find any bugs or code errors and help fix your issues. also if you are using a jAR aircraft a box.txt which can be found in the JAR aircraft folder is a must this is why this plugin is so good because everyone is working well in sending the data into JAR in return JAR can fix the issues and  he is getting all the data therefore, the data is good data.
Thank-you for all your help,
Brian

Hi
Effectively I  missed log.txt
jcdp

PS
When I entered flight plan I planed to use RWY 14 L as mentionned from ATIS for landing... after TOD I modified it by RWY 32R
as required by X-life ATC.

In real life a traffic controller would say for example "Altimeter 29.95" here in the US not "wrong ATIS information"

Good day:

Thank you very much for your responses.

In the ATC window,  click the ATIS button and use the information to change your Barometer setting. Then call Approach.
Hope this helps.

I try and I will comment if it works ... ( I hope so )

In real life a traffic controller would say for example "Altimeter 29.95" here in the US not "wrong ATIS information"

So I thought it would work.

Did a Flight from LFMN (Nice) to LSZH (Zurich), did get BERSI1G Arrival for ILS Runway 32...
Well, Runway 32 in LSZH does not have any ILS sad

How can i correct this?

  Runway 10 (096°)   VISUAL
  Runway 28 (276°)   ILS/DME
Runway 14 (137°)   ILS (CAT IIIb)
  Runway 32 (317°)   VISUAL
Runway 16 (155°)   ILS (CAT IIIb)
  Runway 34 (335°)   ILS/DME

Under X-Life/Gate Editor you can de/select runways..

Hi

A fly from LFPO to LFBO ... everything went well but  ...

Strange isn't it ?

see pictures

Good day,
Good report but please send Log txt so we can keep up with the bug issue LFPO and LFBO can be an issue area depending on what SID and STAR you are using. also, if you are using a JAR aircraft please attach a box.txt and it is found in the JAR aircraft folder.
Thank-you for your help,
Brian

Hi
Effectively I  missed log.txt
jcdp

PS
When I entered flight plan I planed to use RWY 14 L as mentionned from ATIS for landing... after TOD I modified it by RWY 32R
as required by X-life ATC.

Don't understand, about what ATIS are you talking?

Good day,

Yes, I am hearing and seeing the same, I think it would be good if it would have the QnH so, you did not have to guess what the QnH is.

Anyone know because I can not connect to approach ?

I have tried several airports and always the same.

Any solution or idea?

regards

In real life a traffic controller would say for example "Altimeter 29.95" here in the US not "wrong ATIS information"

Good day,
Please, Please send the whole log.txt  we need all the data to help it's not just about one issue but about the big picture and correcting all the X-Life bugs. you might just see you issue but if you have the issue it will show up some where else. The whole log.txt and box.txt will help to track, and the portion of the log you posted does not show any issues so we needed the rest of the log.

The QnH is also an issue for me as I am working through the US airports right now you might have to go to the weather and make sure it(QnH) is set right (to in) also to the US  in. setting, then set the aircraft to in. then start the X-Life plugin.

Good day,
Good report but please send Log txt so we can keep up with the bug issue LFPO and LFBO can be an issue area depending on what SID and STAR you are using. also, if you are using a JAR aircraft please attach a box.txt and it is found in the JAR aircraft folder.
Thank-you for your help,
Brian

Hi
Effectively I  missed log.txt

PS
When I entered flight plan I planed to use RWY 14 L as mentionned from ATIS for landing... after TOD I modified it by RWY 32R
as required by X-life ATC.

Don't understand, about what ATIS are you talking?

To Ilankrt

Hi
In X-life ATC window you have Atis which gives you info on departure and arrival airports ...so
on arrival Airport it was written landing RWY in use 14L or 14 R and Wind 134° ...
see attached picture .
