Re: a320neo JARDesign ver 3.0r1-6 WIN/MAC 64 bit (X-Plane 11)

I have a problem with Navigraph data set 1704, although it's not a SASL error, I went back to data set 1410 which comes with the A320 and everything worked fine. ( See post 203. ) I'm back on data set 1704, but staying away from EGCC runway 23R.
J A R is aware.

Re: a320neo JARDesign ver 3.0r1-6 WIN/MAC 64 bit (X-Plane 11)

Hi - Been flying A320 for about 1 month or so and loving every minute of it - This might be me but spend 10 or so minutes setting everything up... taxi down to the runway and JAR then starts saying "Welcome to the arrival airport...blar blar blar!..!! I haven't taken off yet - Why does JAR think I've arrived? - Doesn't spoil much thereafter, I still take off but plane is not now configured for take off and get no call outs etc...

Any ideas or help be much appreciated. Thanks

I think you was taxieeng to fast (above 40 knt)! If you do that, then A320 thinks you just landed...

Hello Eugeny,
There's a problem with all textures at a place on the a320.

Did anyone manage to solve the SASL issue?  Pretty frustrating that I can't use the A320 at the moment.  Tried to reinstall and reactivate but getting the same error.

I read your log.txt. There is a few lines that caught my attention:

I'll take another look, thanks.  It happened after I updated the Navdata.  I don't think I did anything differenty to what I've done previously.

Hi

I do not know if you have reloaded Aircraft after activation (as required) but if not it is normal to get such messages .
Reload the Aircraft and they will disappear .

Re: a320neo JARDesign ver 3.0r1-6 WIN/MAC 64 bit (X-Plane 11)

Did you try going back to nav data set 1410. When you open the A320 and power up you can choose the nav data set on the FMC startup page. I believe nav data set 1410 comes with the A320.
You are given the choice of 1410 or the latest set you may have got from Navigraph.

Re: a320neo JARDesign ver 3.0r1-6 WIN/MAC 64 bit (X-Plane 11)

Thanks for the suggestions for my SASL issue which does appear to be Navdata related.

I was using 1704 - updated the XP folder in Custom Data and the A320 _navdata folder.  This is what gave me the issue in the first place.

I then stepped back to 1703 - no change.

I then reinstalled the A320 and left it at the 1410 data.  Now it's working.

Question now - is this a JAR, Navigraph or XP issue?

I believe you are not supposed to replace any files in the _navdata folder. If you just update the files in /X-PLANE 11/Custom Data/GNS430/navdata/ with the 1704 cycle everything should work as expected - the _navdata folder is meant as a backup in case the first source is missing. This works just fine for me.

I've actually put the 1704 cycle into both /X-PLANE 11/Custom Data/GNS430/navdata/ and the A320 _navdata folder without issues. The FMC correctly shows 1704 for primary and backup navdata so I don't think it's an issue with the A320.....

Re: a320neo JARDesign ver 3.0r1-6 WIN/MAC 64 bit (X-Plane 11)

I reinstalled using the Navigraph tool and now everything works fine on 1704.  Previously I was installing manually which was most likely causing the issue.  Will use the Navigraph tool provided going forward.

So I had time to watch the 2. half of the video. Here are some remarks:

- you pushed the ILS button way to early, well that does not hurt, but does not bring any useful
   information.
- you set the speed to "manual" and reducing it way too early. Usually you do not need to do it at all,
as the plane passes the "220kt" point, it will reduce it automatically. So you can just set flaps, the speed will
be reduced automatically regarding to flaps position ( after you pass the "220kt" point)
Wait until the plane goes to "approach mode" automatically. Then only set flaps.
- in x-life you send "ILS established" way before it was established.
- at 1000ft, you switched the AP1 off. Well, I thought you will made an ISL landing (so switch on AP2 additionally)
but you decided to make a manual landing. ok.
- for the last 1000 ft, you should keep a sinkrate at approx. 700ft. You were too steep,  and afterwards you
had to correct that and were too high over ground at the beginning of the runway.
- the landing itself was quite hard ! ("Dear passengers, as you certainly have noticed we have already landed")
- after touchdown, you immediately set "reverse thrust", also the plane was not on ground with the bug wheel.
This causes some wired callouts "go around" "Flaps set", which does not make any sense :-)

That's it :-)

Well, don't take that as critism, take it as some hints to do the next landing even better.... !!

best regards,

Thomas

Re: a320neo JARDesign ver 3.0r1-6 WIN/MAC 64 bit (X-Plane 11)

Aeci, glad you got it working. I have an issue with nav data set 1704. If I leave EGCC on runway 23R with LISTO as the first waypoint, the route shows the wrong heading, it goes off behind the aircraft. It should be runway heading and then a left turn to LISTO. I think it's an A320 problem with 1704 nav data set.
It works correctly with nav data set 1410 loaded.
JAR is aware, hopefully it will be sorted in an update.

Is it supposed to completely level off during climb to gain speed? I mean, should it just reduce the climb rate instead of leveling?

Re: a320neo JARDesign ver 3.0r1-6 WIN/MAC 64 bit (X-Plane 11)

I've found a bug and I'm not sure if its a problem with the SASL Plugin or 124thATC.

If you run the Airbus A320 with 124thATC, when you are approaching and the controller gives you an expected runway, if you click "Other runway" the SASL Plugin crashes with an error!!

Seems like logo lights are coming through vertical stabilizer.

- Thrust setting to 50% still overshoots to near 60% until stabilizing to 50%.
- Have to use SID (?!) otherwise can't remove discontunity.
- IRS align timer on ECAM still wrong (shows 4-5min when IRS is aligned)

Also why one of conditioner switches is not at auto and ND is not set completely to bright. I'd also love to see that when in cold and dark, all screens are turned off rather than on.

Re: a320neo JARDesign ver 3.0r1-6 WIN/MAC 64 bit (X-Plane 11)

Hi,

There has been a lot of unconfirmed issues the last 2 months. I decided to make a video "cold and dark to cold and dark" (done with latest X-Plane 11.01RC1, Xenviro 1.0.6, JAR-A320 3.0RC6 and Ortho4XP Scenery) to show that the JAR-A320 is perfectly flyable.

I tried to go slowly through everything (I do not talk, only video with sound) and I think I covered everything (also the question about air brakes that would not deploy or did not work).

And as you see, there is no SASL errors any time.

And I also do a "clear discontinuity" because the arriving airport does not have STAR.

I have to say that I'm not a real life pilot and everything I know about the Airbus A320 I got from books and the internet!

You can see the video here: https://youtu.be/IDY1Pdm6iLs

I actually did see a glitch on takeoff. It did not call out "V" speeds. That is the first time I saw this.

Enjoy the flight...

/Michael
