Topic: How to Create ATC-taxiroutes using WED. Rules, features.

CHECKLIST AFTER WED DRAWING:

+ Aircraft symbol position in the WED show the exact position of the nose of the aircraft in the simulator.

+ Aircraft symbol in the WED exactly oriented exactly with heading of the plane just taxied to parking

+ Stand name have 2 words or less (like: Stand 01, Gate S15, Cargo_Ramp 22T)

+ Hold short pointы connected with runway by a single segment. If this not possible - segment after hold short marked as taxiway, next and others - marked as runway.

+ Taxilines what may be used as exit from runway only, marked as Oneway

+ Excess segments (which can be dispensed without) removed

+ Runway centerlines marked as Runway

CHECKLIST AFTER GATE EDITOR:

+ Parameters of the aircraft category and type of parking set for every stand

+ Stands near terminals marked as Gates, stands at apron marked as Stand, etc

+ Aircraft dimensions are within the boundaries of a parking space

+ Every runway marked with checkbox for departure/arrival exact as in reallife

"Create standart ATC-taxiroutes using WED."

As I have many questions about rules for ATC-taxiroute drawing, we can discuss it here. Before this, i will post some features right now. Please look ad follow this rules!

1.Please Mark ATC-taxiroute as "runway" (red color) and "no runway" for all other taxiroutes.

2.Draw ATC-taxiroute with small radius (15-30 m) as "one turn" (just as "corner")

3.Draw ATC-taxiroute with BIG radius (> 30-40 m) as several lines, what turned no more what 30 degr every time.

4.Draw ATC-taxiroute for BIG-radius-exit from runway as "tangent" line.

5.Put Node for Every Hold point before runway

6.Place "aircraft" symbol (parking position) where Nose of aircraft should be. Use "doubleway" taxiline for taxiIn-pushOut stands/Gates

7.For TaxiIn-TaxiOut stands, Use "oneway" taxiline as Enter, Place Park position at the end, leave some space (2-3 m), draw "oneway" exit taxilene.

8.Use similar solution for runways with "pocket-like" turn at the end.

I haven't used WED yet so need to learn how to but want to give it a go. Your products are superb and I want to be able to use them at more airports.
Question: Is the availability of proper taxi routes the only requirement for X-Life to work or is more needed for that?

When ATC-taxiroutes will be created, you may export apt.dat, rename it to XXXX.dat and put to /Airports/ folder. Next, when you start X-Plane and turn X-Life On, you need use Gate Editor (inside X-Life Menu) and (if need, sure) tune parameters of gates with easy-way visual editor.

Sure, if Custom Scenery always have apt.dat with ATC-taxitoutes (it is a scenery developers task) and gates, not need do any, but just start X-Life in this scenery.

Who can help ?
Have Mega Airport EDDB for FSX converted to X-Plane 10. Looks very good. X-Life is working on this airport with my custom ATC Routes but...Follow Me Car ist NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS AIRPORT ! I have buy FM Car by JarDesign and have my registration,
put the EDDB.dat and EDDB.txt in my X-Life / Airports folder and in my FM Car / Airports folder also. No work !!!

Dear Mr. Romanov, first I would like to say congratulation for this Beta Plug-In !!!
You're on the right way I think. Fly and testing every day, create ATC-Routes for my custom airports.
My question: Is it possible to create an ATC-Route for an airport with runway 08L/26R for arrivals and
runway 08R/26L only for departures ??? Try everything but X-Life ignored this !

This time we have not ability to separate runway for departure/arrival (just for future task)

the problem with EDDT.dat I think. May be need remove on e middle point and have only hold point (not on runway) and next - runway point

X - Life problem with the pushback . Can someone explain to me how the pushback long makes to the center line ?
Sometimes the start pushback and then immediately left or right in the aircraft deviated ! Thanks for the help !

X-Life trying to understand where need make turn by
- sharp turn (like intersection gate taxiline with apron taxiline)
- count passed points (want make turn after second routepoint, sure, if intersection like "sharp turn" was not happen before

VERY VERY BIG Surprise !!!

I had never use WED and i would make effort to make ATC routes for an airport because i really love JAR products (all).
I have work several hours and look the video and surprise ...

When i have want to test my product, X-Life say me the airport is not available cause is not on the Map !

Must you approve the ATC routes ?

Or have i make a mistake in my apt.dat ?

this issue we are trying to find now and if you can send more data this will help us very much if you look at the KLAX XL data // http://jardesign.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1784 /// you will see the same issue question did you up-date X-Plane since you started using X-Life. my thought is that a library need to be up-dated but which one and this is what I am trying to figure out now.

Now I up dated from XP 10.45r1 to 10.45r2 and had issues so I went back to 10.45r1 so I thought but now that I look at the log.txt the installer did not do what it was intended for it to do. So, I will have to do a manual install back to 10.45r1 from the external HD.

Note#1 I have done this step and now I am running on 10.45r1 the issue is still there I will see how the X-Life runs on the 10.45r1 platform now that I know that I have rolled back to the right platform.

Hello, i'm very sorry cause i don't have all understand because i'm not speak english very well.
So, i send you my apt.dat, airport.txt and my log.txt
I also join my screen with the error message when i start traffic.

I set very busy my gates and ramps but i just have 2 planes. They never move.

I hope that's what you want.

I'm in 10.45.

I add when i start, FM is not compatible with this airport too.

With your apt.dat, it's like with my... I have just 3 planes (set 90% busy) and the planes never move.

You can set the density to max(150) and see what will happen, 90 busy just meaning the ramp, your airport just has 10 ramp, it is small. And about the ATC line to ramp, just when you drawing the line pass the ramp marker, click the marker then it be be connected.

Remember that some ramp will be used by the arrival aircraft. If you still have question maybe you can contact me on skype witch I can reply you faster. BTW I am not the guy in JAR group, I just want to help you (which mean there are some problem I can't solve either.)
