Excuse me insisting on that, but does anybody have the Cost Index working on v2.6 betas?

Nope, doesn't work here, either. Can confirm that CI works on 2.5b1 (05.09.2015)

What kind of fix do you expect?
That one can enter numbers 0 <= Ci <= 999 or that the CI gets considered?

I have an alarm sound bipping with no Visible light while preparing to start the engines.

Warning on the ND:
GEAR NOT DOWN

Parking break is set
Gear are down.

How do I find what is causing the alarm and how to stop it?

Well, as CI used to work normally, meaning being considered, in v2.5b1, I'd say that it should be rather easy to put back in. Maybe they overlooked something. I do see a short lag when I change the CI, so I think that some sort of  computation is done, yet not displayed or not read out correctly.

The CI range of 0-99 or 0-999 is entirely dependent on the software that's running on the FMGS. Newer Airbus aircraft (A346, A350, A380) usually have 0-999, while especially older A320 have 0-99.
But as JarDesign label their A320neo, I'd agree that 0-999 would be the better choice.

108

Re: ver 2.6 beta 4 WIN/MAC 64 bit

In fact in v2.5 CI is working fine, in that it makes clb, crz and des speeds properly vary. Better if now it could be 0-999 range, but first it'd have to work smile

Re: ver 2.6 beta 4 WIN/MAC 64 bit

Hi,

I noticed that during the initial cockpit preparation when ADIRS is turn on and "FROM/TO" field entered in the MCDU,  ND display comes already after 1 minute (but full alignment time is 7 minutes).
Is it also the same in real airplanes ?

Thanks a lot

Good day

Re: ver 2.6 beta 4 WIN/MAC 64 bit

Changing CRZ FL in climb on PROG page, adduct aircraft to lost lateral path - aircraft begin uncontrolled turn to the left and reach previous point in FP.

Solution : set HDG and maintain lateral path - DIR-TO to required intersection - set managed mode LNAV.

Re: ver 2.6 beta 4 WIN/MAC 64 bit

Hello, thank you all for nice work.
I’ve found a couple of ‘bugs’ trying to test approaches with DME-arcs. (Navigraph AIRAC 1601)
My test is with VOR APP to RWY 08 in GCTS (Tenerife Sur Airport) using STAR KONBA4G.
VOR RWY 08 has two VIAS, IAF BAMEL and IAF TFS, if you select NO STAR, you can choose the two VIAS plus the NO VIA option that takes you directly to FAF TFS

http://jardesign.org/forum/img/m/1858/t/p1a9pt54hsn85rqe11s91kbslnv3.png

Selecting VIA BAMEL draws wrong the course intersection CI129 to the DME ARC

http://jardesign.org/forum/img/m/1858/t/p1a9ptcja3gg100o16n1dfb15sl3.png

http://jardesign.org/forum/img/m/1858/t/p1a9ptkvipgmbn9a1n6p16qd1eo3.png

http://jardesign.org/forum/img/m/1858/t/p1a9ptm3ireka1tttttt1aub1eko5.png

But if you select STAR KONBA4G, you have no option at all to select VIA BAMEL

http://jardesign.org/forum/img/m/1858/t/p1a9ptnj50gn81esb1s4f1sbn1ktu7.png

STAR KONBA4G goes VIA ARACO GANTO BAMEL(IAF) AND TFS(IAF), so it should be able to select Approach VIA BAMEL, and then ending STAR at BAMEL, not TFS

http://jardesign.org/forum/img/m/1858/t/p1a9ptpno9fkt1mel1q5utvu12cpc.png

All this with ver 2.6 beta 4, WINDOWS 7 X64, X-PLANE 10.42

I would also like to bring attention to the bug reported here http://jardesign.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1583
Although I know is not Beta related.

Thank you so much for such nice work and product.

Salute!

Hello everyone,

Could someone verify that Logo Lights (at tail) is working during flight.

I made two flights at night and the results are:
1. Before take off I turned on Nav & Logo + Wing lights - they are turned on and working
2. After take off and climb aprox 2000+ - Nav lights - worked, Logo lights - not worked, Wing lights - worked
3. After descending to aprox 3500 - Logo lights starts working again.
4. After landing - all light continue working without issues.

Hi Wangenheim, this is normal behavior, as FCOM states, Logo lights are off when on flight and flaps are retracted.

FCOM 1.33.20 p 3

R Logo lights are installed in the upper surface of each horizontal stabilizer to illuminate the
R company logo on the vertical stabilizer provided the main gear struts are compressed or
R the slats are extended.

I haven't check but should be this way.

Salute!

Re: ver 2.6 beta 4 WIN/MAC 64 bit

Logo light is in if Nav/Logo light switch is set to 1 or 2 and flaps/ slats are extended more then 15 degrees or if gear is compressed.

So very well moddled in the jar Airbus.

Re: ver 2.6 beta 4 WIN/MAC 64 bit

I like Jar and his efforts. However, I will not be buying another Jar product until it feels complete.  The A320 still has alot of issues and not up to standard of what Aerosoft has done with their A320. Specifically in Flight Managment.  I will stick with more polished products. I will never again buy a product  that feels like that's on the back burner. This thing was $60 and still not complete. Hope it's feels finished one day. Will try the flight factor's boeing 767. I hear it's an amazing  plane.

116

Re: ver 2.6 beta 4 WIN/MAC 64 bit

I agree, I don't understand how these bugs take SO long to work through.  It feels so close but either the code is such a mess it can't be figured out or it's just a very low priority.  This is the perception, not necessarily the reality.  That said, I've heard similar comments about FF and their 757.  The JAR planes are still fun to fly and you can simply pretend they have many built in failures you have to work through as PIC.

Re: ver 2.6 beta 4 WIN/MAC 64 bit

Well take into account that the main Team of JArDesign consist only of two persons (Eugeny for Programming, Slava for textures/ 3D) and it's not their main job to develop aircraft. They are doing it in free time after work. So things take time to finish. Because it's a discussion between "hej lets see the famaly after work and hej lets go programing after (again) after work..

Re: ver 2.6 beta 4 WIN/MAC 64 bit

It's unbelievable. We had to wait for years to get anything and
I'm really happy about guys like JAR.
It's very difficult to find enough information about the aircraft.
You need to have a very high capability of coding and 3D modelling.
And last but not least, the developers normally are simple guys, having a normal full time job and possibly family.
Many thanks that developers like you exist and help us to enjoy our passion better and better.

I started with XP10 and the CRJ. Now I know the difference between the game (aircraft is a point of mass having no moments) FSX/P3D and a simulator (body with 6 degree of freedom and distribution of aerodynamic forces) X-Plane and love it to fly Airbusses.

The FF A350 was published in December 2014 and does still not supply any understanding of SID/STAR.

Re: ver 2.6 beta 4 WIN/MAC 64 bit

I think most of us are generally happy with the product and it seems very very close.  But the part that some are frustrated with is that we purchased it with certain expectations.  I get it that they do this in their part time.  That's great.  But it feels like we're just getting a few hours a month.  Really do like the improvements in beta 4 along with the interaction on the board from JAR.  Just need to get those STARS to load properly and I can probably live with the rest.  Texture improvements would be nice too.  smile  I also am conflicted that I see videos going up for X Life rather than finalizing the A320 because of their time limits.  We gripe a bit because there are few quality airliners to begin with...which in a way is a great complement to the JAR guys.  Cheers.

Re: ver 2.6 beta 4 WIN/MAC 64 bit

exactly..  I appreciate JARs work like the rest of you but I wish they would hold off on new projects until the A320 feels way more more complete. I heard the A330 version is better than the A320.. wasn't the the A320 started first? We don't even have the follow me car back...

One thing at a time.. Flight factors new 767 maybe my plane of choice to fly very soon.. hearing nothing but rave reviews. Not taking the chance on buying Jars A330 after the A320 wait.

Re: ver 2.6 beta 4 WIN/MAC 64 bit

The plane is loosing the NAV track near TOC, is this a known issue?

Good day,
speedbird0327,gpb500, galaio.silva As a vet I served in the US Navy to make sure the world has the rights to speak their mind and never be oppressed for doing so, and you have been able to do just that on this forum.
Now i would like my turn, i do not know how old you are so, I will keep things simple.
if you have an issue with the aircraft you must send a log.txt and a bbox.txt to receive any tech support with out those two items you cannot expect to receive help.
then when you want to start to complain about one of the x-Plane developers that I know for a fact because I am a coder also has code and the knowledge to make some of the best aircraft in the X-Plane Hangers.
As, a beta tester and Apple Developer I can tell you that if you were to post you log.txt and bbox.txt you would have gotten as much help as needed to resolve you issue instead of being upset.
now if you want me to help I will but you need to post the items I mentioned above.
your friend,
captbullett

Hi!.

Thanks for your work.

Yesterday LEMG -> LELN.
SID (rwy31 LEMG) and STAR (rwy23 LELN): ok.
Transition Altitud 6000.
FL380.
On T/D set final descend altitud to 5100 (Final rwy23 LELN).
Transition Level 7000.
Passing TL set baro value from 1013 to 1030 (i think).
Reaching the final altitud (5100), automaticaly, the baro value, change and set to standar 1013.
I need to set again.

This has happened to me on every flight with this beta.

Attach .log and bbox.log
Thanks so much and regards.

Re: ver 2.6 beta 4 WIN/MAC 64 bit

Hi !

I'm just started trying ATC (or x-life) on A320, and I could not move the main ATC window more to the right....

As I have a 3 monitor setup, I can't read the beginning of all messages in the standard ATC window.

On other planes, the ATC window is quite well positioned.

How can I move the window more to the right ??
Or is this hardcoded and plane-dependant ?

Create a file X-Plane 10/Resources/plugins/X-Life/settings.txt having the following content and containing 43 lines (last two are empty) and play around with the values in lines 3-13:

I assume this values to store the panel position. Might help. The settings are hopefully reloaded each time you switch traffic on/off/ on via the screen-menu. if not, you need to reopen your current aircraft.
