Topic: FMcar v.1.3 for 10.40 update

If you use Windows - please download win.xpl file and put it to ...X-PLANE 10/Resources/plugins/FM/ instead old

If you use MAC OS  - please download mac.xpl file and put it to ...X-PLANE 10/Resources/plugins/FM/ instead old

Now you can add your own custom airport description file like apt.dat file. To do this, Please create
"Airports" folder in your ...X-PLANE 10/Resources/plugins/FM/ and put your custom apt.dat file there with NAME.dat filename. As example, you can download EDDL.dat (file for Dusseldorf airport) and put it to ...X-PLANE 10/Resources/plugins/FM/Airports/ folder

Re: FMcar v.1.3 for 10.40 update

I have follow the simple instruction above. Still FM car is not available although I place the new (KBUF.dat) file in the the new Airport folder as noted above.  Is this now suppose to allow the FM car to work with any airport or is it still limited to a few? Because for me there is no change. Hopefully, someone will clarify what the win.xpl is supposed to do.

Addendum: I see this will be for 10.40. That is likely why no change at the moment with 10.36.

Re: FMcar v.1.3 for 10.40 update

It's works now normally on KSEA airport, but in for example ULLI, not work.
Im create folder Airports, put in this folder file  from folder "Earth nav data" of scenary called apt.dat , renamed it to ULLI.dat.
But nothings happens.
"FM Car not availeble at ULLI"

I try do it with EDDL in example of above post, but not work in EDDL too.

Maybe need download version 1.3? I have distributive 1.2 only.  Im put new win.xpl in FM car folder plugin.

FMCar just read scenery files what you have. If your scenery have not taxi route, FMCar can't read it.

Where you get KBUF.dat? Make yourself? Or just copy from scenery what have not taxiroutes?

Re: FMcar v.1.3 for 10.40 update

Thank you for responding.  KBUF was a payware airport through X Plane.ORG. I found the DAT file and renamed it to KBUF.dat and then placed  the file in the new folder as instructed.

Re: FMcar v.1.3 for 10.40 update

If some airport always have apt.dat with taxi routes, not need put any to Airports folder.

But if you do/get some custom apt.dat - you can.

Re: FMcar v.1.3 for 10.40 update

I bought the plugin yesterday and there are some scenarios that having defined  ATC routes the plugin not work ans display "FM Car not available at UHMP". What it can occur?

On the other hand, how it is possible to know what version of the plugin we have?. My win.xpl is dated 04/11/2014.

Cheers.

Re: FMcar v.1.3 for 10.40 update

To use the FMcar, your the Apt.dat of your scenery where you want to use the follow me car, must include taxiroutes. The taxiroutes can be created with WED.

Re: FMcar v.1.3 for 10.40 update

I can do this with current WED from 10.36 with no problem.

Usually need import DSF and apt.dat with WD.
