Re: ver 2.4 beta 3 WIN/MAC 64 bit

Just did a short flight - SBFL - SBSP. Everything ok with FBW. One step delete on MCDU ok. I used some time compression during the flight and everything goes fine. At the end turned of A/P and A/T to a smooth landing. Liked the new PFD, but a minimal detail: the DME indicator of VOR 2: the "M" of "NM" is a little off the screen. But one thing weird (never happened with 2.3r4). Part of my flight plan was RONUT DCT NEGUS. Instead of "direct" the PFD showed a strange design followed by the airplane (image attached). I notice a little increase in the framerate. Attached my log.txt

Re: ver 2.4 beta 3 WIN/MAC 64 bit

Good morning JAR
I think you misunderstood me with my question last night (Sound Engine). This must of course not be immediately, but would be a nice feature. I do not know whether you have already seen this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWPMTUX6ciM

I need you to make a huge compliment. What is possible with your new sound engine, in my opinion is for a giant leap in X-Plane.
I suspect this will provide developers for sound new opportunities.

So now, but enough of flattery;-)

Dirk

2.4 b3 works well.
Now I will do a testflight.

Re: ver 2.4 beta 3 WIN/MAC 64 bit

And a small tiny report again for b1 edition. I will check out B3, when being back from hospital this afternoon, and - may be - how the bird performs in cold and dark according to FCOM03 SOP.

But now a short resumee of around three taxi trials, two under good weather conditions, one with standing water on taxiways.

Taxi in general looks fine, getting a more realistic shape. A big plus is that the oversized lateral acceleration of the plane while turning got considerately reduced. It makes the plane working more realistic.

Joystick electronic noise while operating on ground also has reduced somehow. (Stick used was Logitech Extreme 3D pro) Even with a dead zone of 15 percent, I had rudder movements in 2.3 just because of placing my hand at the flightstick. The problem exists also in 2.4, but on a more limited base. Yet there were interferences on the taxi steering and - probably - also on fbw.

While doing flight control check on ground I recognized that the bug has been solved, that kept ailerons stuck to last stick position. Setting the stick to neutral again, made both flaps lower to neutral setting again. Nice

Turn and turn performance also looks good so far. Was it easy to keep a 90 degrees turn with 30 knots with the 2.3, you will blasted of Taxiway with 2.4 doing so. So I felt that the taxi Performance is pretty much closer to reality and has to be kept in limits outlined in FCOMS.

Additionally, I checked out once, how the bird behaved in Taxi under bad weather conditions, doing some Slaloms in Moscow on taxiways with standing water. Still very much stability in it. I missed a bit the characteristic slippage of the nose wheel, that I could feel in 2.3 on a Taxiway with standing water.

Hot start function: I am no expert for Hot start function at all, mostly getting the bird alive via cold and dark procedure. So mistakes in usage made by me can also be probable. From three hot starts, one stalled right after take off, one worked very well, and one was accompanied by a pretty strange behaviour looking like extreme turbulences. MCDU Perf, MCDU Init, MCDU FPLAN have been properly set before take off.

Climb: Puh ... In Autopilot-Mode the A320 have been extremly high in vertical speed, ranging between 4500 and 5000 ft/min and with a Cost Index of 30 set at MCDU. I guess here some fine tuning is still needed.

Additionally, a resumee for the current b3: SASL-CTD-issue has been solved for me with b3. Activating the Aircraft worked fine.

Also sound issue got solved now.

Read you later

Re: ver 2.4 beta 3 WIN/MAC 64 bit

The 2.4 beta 3 crashes every time I load the aircraft, even after restarting X-Plane. Registration went well.
I didn't encounter these problems with version 2.4 beta 1.

Re: ver 2.4 beta 3 WIN/MAC 64 bit

Hi !

I could register the 2.4B3, but now xplane is ALWAYS crashing, regardless which directory i use:

Aircraft/A320 -> crash
Aircraft/320neo_JARDesign -> crash
Aircraft/heavy metal/320neo_JARDesign -> crash.

Thomas

Re: ver 2.4 beta 3 WIN/MAC 64 bit

Beta 3 is working really stable on my Mac. Had a short test flight from LSZH to EDDL today, didn't experience that Climb problem with 5000ft/min at all. My only annotation is, that the PFD and the F/O were freaking out about that we'd need more drag. I never had this situation at all and it was completly pointless as we were in a stable cruise flight at FL330. I like the improved FBW smile

Re: ver 2.4 beta 3 WIN/MAC 64 bit

Hi,

just to report.

Step 1: Activation CTD
Step 2: Reload Xplane .. times after time.. everytime CTD
Step 3: Used the "put the folder under -Aircraft/A320- Works perfect!
Step 4: Perfect sound, and FBW! Thanks so much! Great Aircraft again!

Greetings!

Re: ver 2.4 beta 3 WIN/MAC 64 bit

Re: ver 2.4 beta 3 WIN/MAC 64 bit

CTD at loading A320 the Beta version 3

Renamed the folder and move it to AC folder with the same resulte.

File log is with std. folder path.

Flile log1 after renaming and moving + loading a diffrent ac before loading the 320 Beta 3

p.s.

Using win7 x64 sp1
Steam version of XPlane

Re: ver 2.4 beta 3 WIN/MAC 64 bit

CTD at loading A320, Beta version 3...exactly same events as Steffen.Marks so I then did the same by putting aircraft under -X-plane10/Aircraft/A320
ac loaded properly, Flies great, tho it didn't follow flight path after a certain point and A/T and vertical nav did not work properly. Indicator light stays on for Flaps config not configured.
uhmm, tried to upload log file, but only image upload available.
Thanks for your great work J.A.Romanov!

Re: ver 2.4 beta 3 WIN/MAC 64 bit

Concerning the SASL-out of memory CTDs. Changing the Name of the A320-main folder to a similar structure like the ones used in A320neo 2.3 helped, at least  in my case.

Hello.

I'm having CTD loading version "2.4b3", even moving the plane to Aircraft folder and renaming to "A320". I also tryed to remove all plugins without success. My log.txt is attached to this post.

As the problem is - too long path, this should help
move sim folder from
E:/fsim/X-Plane/X-Plane 10/
to
E:/X-Plane 10/

Re: ver 2.4 beta 3 WIN/MAC 64 bit

This closing at the start of x-plane is more than a path issue, on my Mac X-plane is installed on the Desktop. I have moved and renamed the folder to "A320" and placed it in the Aircraft folder and it still crashes on startup.

SASL ERROR: Error loading panel: not enough memory

I have 20gig of memory installed.
