Re: X-Life ver 1.0 (rc1, r1, ++)

Ok, I am so close to finish tools, allow X-Life read/use/edit/add "Bluebell XL" AI aircraft library (will be about 1.4 GB). Users should just download and instal library, no more deals need. Feature allow user to scroll/see and all aircraft types and all liveries for selected type. Anyway, all this done, but need port code to Windows and fine check/tune some AI aircrafts parameters. This and the bug-fixing will come to next beta and next 1.1 release. Was a hard (a lot of job) improvements, but I am glad with HD quality of traffic panes with this library. Sure OpenSceneryX still support.

I don't want to be a spoilsport but,

I think the most important development must concentrate on ATC and traffic regulation in the sky and on ground.

Fo me personally the arrangement of AI airliner belonging to a certain company is not so important. I am very satisfied with the present traffic whether it is small or large airliner, which all belonged to the one or other airline company. The main thing is the simulation of traffic in the sky and on taxi ways that revive the airport operational. In addition, I would like to emphasize the strength  of X-live that stands by Simplificity. More details, means more windows and more settings for each of the airports, which complicate the simulation more and more, whereby the previously outstanding qualities of clear and simple illustration will suffer. This is what I have most to complain of "World Traffic". So my urgent wish is, remains at the present clear concept!

On the other hand is still a lot of development work on the ATC concept necessary as the main part of the flight simulation kontrol. Here we are for the time still miles away from a realistic concept.

Finally, the traffic regulation on the different airports must be constantly improved.

Test flight LTAI - LGAV, A330, X-Life last version, X-Plane last version, iMac 27 OSX (still) Mavericks.

X-Life stable

1. Lading at LGAV after getting Cleared to land Runway from tower another aircraft on take-off came on towards.
2. ATC at LGAV didn't recognize that runway was indeed vacated
3. Busy traffic at both airports

I agree the simplicity of X-Life converted me over from World Traffic. It's great when you can set up an airport in WED and then the ground routes are automatically added via .dat file transfer. That's easy! The Blue Bell Packs will be great and would we be able to select carriers? ex United, Delta, Aer Lingus etc.  I find the the amount of traffic at airports is suitable, and you do have the option to adjust the traffic density. I'm sure other improvements will follow. There's just not enough time in a day to work on all of this! Great job so far!

Hi
Well, could you explain me, gently please, how I can conclude that a crash comes from X-life or comes from X-plane?

The two last lines of the log are from X-life ...

Good day
As, I posted before, you need to post your log.txt to get support here and it is not if you want to, you will not get help if you do not post the log txt and you won't get money back for this plugin as a Beta tester I know it works well and we are getting ready for 1.1 so better send the log.txt...

Re: X-Life ver 1.0 (rc1, r1, ++)

Hello, I'm using x-life deluxe. It's a great tool. All is ok, no ctd, but: I have generated atc routes for two Airports EDNY-Friedrichshafen and LSZR-Altenrhein. If I start in EDNY, starting x-life, there is a lot of traffic. If I start in LSZR, starting x-life, there is also traffic.
But if I do a flight from EDNY to LSZR, then there is no traffic in LSZR. The airplanes are standing on there positions but nothing is happened. If I come back to EDNY, there is also no traffic. There is standing one airplane, but nothing happened.
What can be the reason?
And one question, is there a possibility to start x-life automatically?
Thank you for your support.

Good day,

No XL does not start Auto, maybe in the future but in a way I do not think I would want it to since in might cause the X-Plane App to Crash more it is better to start some plugins after the main app starts.

And to the first question each airport will have different air-trafic loads due to the size of the airport I have found the you have to have finished you flight plan before, the full load of XL aircraft are up and loaded for the airport after starting the XL plugin. Another, way to check this is to look on the radar and see where the aircraft are.

Re: X-Life ver 1.0 (rc1, r1, ++)

Just a suggestion here. I read about program crashes and other problems and of course, these things do happen. As an avid user of X-Life I can understand people becoming upset when there is a crash, especially those that are new to using it. Yes we are asked to post our logs here when there are problems, so then the proper information can be gathered by the JAR team. That's excellent it's great that this can be done! My suggestion is to implement a trouble shooting page here on this forum so that users can look up possible causes of problems based on information gathered by JAR so far from text logs and different problems. The team could post some quick solutions to common CTDS (crashes) and users can post how they had and fixed certain problems within X-Life. Just the other day I told someone on this forum to update to the latest 4b version. His problem was easily solved and he has traffic moving at his new airport. Result a happy X-Life user. My point is that if there is a page on the forum for trouble shooting problems and crashes within X-Life, the process of solving them might be smoother and happier.

cmckjodi -- good idea!

In addition to it, I think that there is a need of tutorial videos. Some of them are on YouTube and we should  refer to them in our answers. A video sequence can be more powerful then 1000 words. We need to think about, that some simmer are not able to act intuitive but only according to the written.

BTW there is a thread on X-Plane.org that also can be used:

2. Be sure what you have at least one of static library installed -
OpenSceneryX. If not, you can install it for free opensceneryx.com

3. Copy “X-Life” folder to your ../X-PLANE 10/Resources/plugins/ folder

4. If you prefer use “Bluebell XL” traffic AI library, please download 3 files from

OK...all loaded and ready to fire up xplane. Question..that CUSTOM folder, should I leave it alone. Not understanding about using that nav data....do I copy the earth.fix, earth.awy, earth.nav from there into your new Custom folder?

EDIT...The settings button partially freezes (stop/go/stop/go) the sim. When I shut it off, frames are back to normal but I cannot use the settings button..plus the sliders are either gone or inoperable

EDIT2..fixed!!!
