Hi JAR,

I did a short test of X-Life. So far it worked good with my PC setup. And I think this plugin has a very high potential. A few things I would suggest:

  • Avoid X-Life aircraft overlay static aircraft of the scenery (e.g. EDDN scenery). Or use only scenery without static aircraft.

  • Make the ATC giving acoustic commands via COM radios with the corresponding frequencies.

  • Also, some basic interaction with ATC, like requesting change of FL, would be a real improvement for X-Plane.

If you could realise this, I would pay good money for your plugin.

I'm beginning to think that is is the old and annoying and since years not working routing function which
makes problems here.

Example: Airport CYXC

- The ATC routes are OK, but no traffic at all.
- I'm trying a flight from CYXC to KLAX
- X-Life Flight plan does not generate anything if using "CYXC" anfd "KLAX".
   the GENERATE funktion returns IMMEDIATELY with nothing, no error. Just empty.

   I think that it just returns without doing anything (look below why)

- using onlineflightplanner.org has no problem generating Route:
    "CYXC DCT FINBO J599 MLP J537 REO J7 FMG J5 EHF STAR KLAX" with same AIRAC as xplane.
- making a companx route and import this to A320NEO V2.6b4 works, but:
   -> can not remove F-PLAN-DICO... (see pic)

I think that's the same problem here and everywhere:

  1) X-Life can not generate a route
        -> no x-life traffic
  2) A320neo can not handle the route
        -> impossible to delete F-Plan-Disco
  3) same with A330
        -> impossible to delete F-Plan-Disco

Here's a latest with the new plugin win file. 
LSFM-LIRF
I noticed the skies were not populated at LFMN, and the runway at LIRF suggested by x-life ATC is not ILS, nor a runway for large planes I believe. I just ignored and went to 16 instead of 7. Skyies were populated there!
Other than that, GREAT!

RWy 17C has no ILS - false declaration

I recognized crash always after "Sound Play" What does it mean?
Wired is also that X-Plane ATC announces with test and voice also XL ATC ? Is it advisedly programmed ?

oops, while departing in LFPO (Orly) on RWY 02 in front an stopping aircraft. I did it with 25°, starting over the aircraft, but i think there is a small issue

If this is true, that's absolutely crazy.  I understand having a list of 'approved' airports, but for the plugin to fail when using another is a serious bug.  As long as the taxi network is setup correctly, there should be no reason why everything won't work.

Also, does anyone have any ideas about the plugin not being able to select a departure runway?  I still haven't heard anything about it  sad

I'm happy to include / test whatever I need to, but I'm out of ideas and need some guidance smile

That's what I meant earlier by "DoA" - if i bring out a plugin, that's working only on a handful of airports, it's crazy. A lot of (good) airports are brought out 2013, 2014, or so. And now every developer has to go again on its work?! Why inventing the wheel new?
To be right understood - I appreciate the work of ramzzess. It's a very good idea, to make ATC and taxiing and AI new, if Laminar is not going to do anything unless 10.5, 10.6. It's a little bit "Buy our car, but please drive it only on motorways, not in the city" (Sounds like a SUV in the city wink ). I'm not a programmer, but is there really no other chance?
For example: KBOS - ramzzess did .dat .txt, great. But I have a newer version of KBOS, from same author. Result: not compatible..... At this moment I'm resisting of support from major players in XPL......

Hello,

the following bug solution or feature could be nice.

If i start from an airport, which is not inside the x-life engine, then
there is no traffic on the airport. Thats okay. But there is no traffic
in the air and nothing at the destination airport.

But if i start from an x-life airport like EDDM or EDDL, then i have traffic
everywhere in the air. Even if i land at a small airport.

In the beginning of the beta, I had no problem going from LFMN (in X-Life) to LEBL (NOT in X-Life).  I'd get all the takeoff and Flight plan info, but when landing at LEBL, I was on my own,,,there were CTD's if I asked/interacted with ATC,FM car etc. 
So I guess it's a bug within a bug sorta thang. But this is why we have beta testing! And this is why JAR Beta testers are actually the BEST Beta testers working here and on x-plane!

In the meanwhile, we just keep keeping on and reporting, and eventually we amass many goals, one of which is just that one.

Hi !

That's not true.

You need ATC routes on the airport (both departure and destination) and you will have
traffic.

If the airport is not listed in the x-life webside, you will get a warning but that's it. Traffic works.

Ok, there are some airports with atc routes and no traffic, but that's a bug.

I like to comment on BluesmanEP's comment about the plugin switching between runways and being unable to decide on which runway to use.
I have three airport ATC routes done using the tutorial from JAR. As far as I know they are done correctly, but not approved. I did get aircraft to arrive and go to the appropriate gate(s). However, I could not get any departure activity at all at either airport. The airports are approx 100kms apart.  After reading BluesmanEP's comment, I deleted all reference to one of the runways at one of the airports. This time I did get an aircraft to leave the gate go to the hold point at the correct end of the runway ( although it did take the wrong ATC route to get there ) it stayed there for awhile shut down the engines ( a prop plane) and did not move after.
My point is that at least there was movement with only one runway instead of two , so I think BluesmanEP's comment does require investigation.

I hope that you saw my video. I forgot to copy log.txt..
This "loop" happened again and again until I went back (using Time Machine) to the last version of a successful
A330 flight (18.03) and installed at that time available XL 09.1 - Now I can fly (at least one successful flight I made today)
It seems that 09.2 has affected my A330 configuration...

Test Flight EDDM - LOWG no crash
but as often RWY 17C GNSS was declared as ILS !
to readback "when ILS alined" makes no sense, so ATC became useless....

I had to move yesterday, and the comments go south stop right there,
this is the map of the approved airports and each airport has to have work done on it to be X-Life ready so, it takes time and effort so stop the negative comments please.
here is the map of the airports that are approved and if it is not on the list you will have a CTD if you try to use certain parts of X-Life.

Please be patent with everone as we all have a life outside of X-Plane.

When you go back to later version of Beta test then you do not help testing this only confuses the testing process.

Interesing. I have only message in red letters "XXX airport is not verified X-Live! Please use menu and" ..... etc, etc and I have this message for more than 20 airports , but whitout CTD or other problem.

Yes, there are airports that are work in progress and just have not been approved and gone through the final steps like KLAX, KSNA, and KBOS just to name a few  the airport that I was posting about CYXC is not being worked on is it? if it is then I stand corrected and i see it is on the list so there but right here is the issue; at this link ; http://jardesign.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1825

it is in the development of the taxi-way in the beginning of the development and this is why you are getting the CTD's!
