Topic: JD A340-500: Rain Effects?

Hi,
Mt firs impression is that this is a super aircraft, thank you.
May I ask please whether windshield rain effects have been implemented, and if not, whether these will be added to this aircraft, as those of the JD A330-200 are excellent?
Thank you,
Fabio

Re: JD A340-500: Rain Effects?

I’d be grateful if rain effects could be implemented before then.
We are so used to seeing fantastic weather in our sims that effects that increase immersion, for instance rain and icing, go a long way towards this immersion.

XP12 is still a very long way off, and we have the winter weather ahead of us, so please at least consider porting the rain effects from the JD A330 into the A340.

I was very impressed by the JD A340 - it is, at its price point, unbeatable.

Why I talk about instant rain effect? For many users usage of no "FPS Boost" version of JD330 bring too much frame rate drop. Yes, this version have rain effect, but to create it we should use "cockpit region" drawing method what is very-very-very slow in X-Plane 11. So, we decide to wait XP12 to avoid reworking pane texture usage in 11-12 migration period. Sure, if we will get free time - we can add rain to XP11, but now - another products update is preferable way. Right now - I close to complete next JD330 update.

Re: JD A340-500: Rain Effects?

Thank you for answering.
I’m unfamiliar with the technicalities of rain effects, though I don’t find them particularly FPS intensive.
It’s disappointing that the A340 has no rain effects considering that the older A330 does.
Not everybody will move to XP12, at least not initially I don’t think, so I don’t Co suffer it around the corner - you might, because no doubt you’ll have an advance copy.
I again flew the JD A340 today, and found it to be very competent despite one or two short comings such as no rain effects and the lack of independent throttles.
Please, whatever you do, please don’t remove rain effects from the A330!

JD340 have separate throttle control and you may (option in MCDU MENU->SETTINGS) select 1, 2 or 4 axis to control it.

Fantastic news, thank you.

That works perfectly with my CH Throttle, thanks.
Initially, I thought that this MCDU settings function referred to TCA throttles in case users had one or two units joined.

With any throttle devices, sure.
