Re: JD330 Airliner ver 2.2 RC1, R2, R3 WIN/MAC 64 bit (X-Plane 11)

Hello,

I can confirm the "right engine shutdown" after starting the decent. Restart is possible - after that the engine stays running in my case. This happend on all my three flights until now. Everything else seems to be working correctly.

It is possible to deactivate the "low fps message" by default? Deactivating it via the menu every time is a bit annoying wink

best regards
Alex

Because we're paying for a working plane and parts of it don't work.

Where from do you get the optimum FL?

It's in the PROG page on the MCDU.

Be happy fly at 390 FL, then there is no need the whole discussion...

Be happy your car's left turn signal works. You don't need to right one.

ilankrt, I'm not running SkyMaxxPro, I am running Better Pushback, nor am I running X-ATC-Chatter. My system is identical to yours, on average I'm getting 22-35 fps depending on scenery and clouds. My clouds are a download, but are pretty much default.
My graphics settings are on the high side.
I do have a problem with Better Pushback, I keep getting "Pushback failure no suitable tug" but it does work if I just start again. Looking at the forums it appears it may be a Mac issue.
All seems fairly OK in XP 11.11 final.

Same problem with BetterPushback (and same solution - do twice :-). Our configuration and achievements seems to be equal.
I think we should stay in contact concerning problems that my occur because of this similarity.
SkyMaxxPro is an amazing plugin that enable dynamic cloud formations looking exactly like in videos I saw made out of real cockpits. I was never a fanatic sky view fan, but they brought the cloud sceneries really to highest level of reality. Have a look at some videos I made.....  Problem is that a hidden bug in SMP cause XP to shutdown a few times during flight and the developer don't want to accept this fact telling me there is a graphic card memory overload...

Re: JD330 Airliner ver 2.2 RC1, R2, R3 WIN/MAC 64 bit (X-Plane 11)

Definetely a Mac problem, I'm running XP11 with BetterPushback on Windows 10 Pro in compatibility mode for Win 8 (and so many other plugins I just can't count them, ranging from simple things such as SimCoders Headshake or LandingSpeed to things like X-Life etc smile ) All without the problems you mentioned.

But be aware I've got other problems to share:

  • Right engine off (amber crosses and no - a flameout was not planned - after a go around at EDDF --> missed approach procedure) "Uh, have a look, eng.2 is off" but could reignite it (only fuel flow or the indication next to it was not showing up anymore)

  • Yeah, sometimes it does strange things with the FMC, so I could never finish a VATSIM flight, but that could be X-Plane or server related, too

  • Weather radar? I got it working once and it looked good, but flying into huge clouds or in rain, you won't see something (of course it's turned on and radar tilted correctly

  • Not Aircraft related: very low FPS at medium-high settings on a mid end computer (what does mid-end mean? Intel Core i7 6700k @stock, 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws V at XMP 3200Mhz, MSI RX480 8GB Gaming X) --> sometimes around 17FPS, sometimes only 13, in the air 40FPS, so it looks like problems with objects (shadow drawing deactivated, not many objects in the world) Funny thing: as I turned down everything to it's minimum settings, I only got 3FPS more... facepalm

Apart from that I think it's the best A332 simulation out their across all platforms and I will spend a few bucks on a sound upgrade, too. Question here: it will upgrade the sound, all right, but it won't upgrade the engine's 3D model nor the eng version in the FMC before INIT page, so actually I would need to stay grounded due to insufficient data, right?
Keep the good work up Eugeny and don't bring the v3 to early in an unfinished state

Re: JD330 Airliner ver 2.2 RC1, R2, R3 WIN/MAC 64 bit (X-Plane 11)

Hello ilankrt, the clouds I'm running are "Soft Cloud Art 1.18" from X-Plane.org. As I said they are fairly near default, but a bit softer and you get four choices.
I have got SkyMaxxPro, but the reason I don't run them is to get the clouds anywhere near the horizon does cause a drop in fps and I have to lower my graphics settings. I don't like the clouds that just seem to surround the aircraft.
I still like both the JAR busses and run them a lot.
I've just updated the A330 to v2.2r2 and added the BSS sound pack, small problem I didn't get the warning horn when I switched off the autopilot on landing and I didn't get the height call-outs and the retard call. I will have to have another flight and see if it happens again.
I like the updates to X-Life I'm on the latest at the moment.

The low FPS have something to do with the API (OpenGL) used by X Plane, which is not supported very well by AMD graphics cards. I have the same MSI card and it's the same for me. It makes no difference if I have the controls left or right in the graphics settings, at least for the gpu dependent settings.

LR has already announced improvement for AMD graphic cards. Should LR switch to the Vulkan API one day, a big improvement is likely to occur.

dpny mentioned it on the X Plane forum already - the "right engine shut down" issue seems to be related to a particular setup. Here are my system settings. Maybe we find some matches that could narrow the problem.

Re: JD330 Airliner ver 2.2 RC1, R2, R3 WIN/MAC 64 bit (X-Plane 11)

Hey Alex,

yeah, I already now this thing about the Vulkan API. However, I'm a big fan of betas if sth works not as it should and voila: newest X-Plane 11 beta, set the workaround for AMD to true again (default settings, a dev from LR wrote this once: you can add a  --no_workaround to the destination in the shortcut's start properties to maybe archieve better results) meaning that I deleted that tag and fired it up: voila, 21 FPS in outside the glareshield of the A330 on EDDF's 07C at night with the following settings:

High (HDR)
Texture quality Maximum with 2771MB of texture loaded (I've got Ortho4Xp overlays on 16 or 15 I guess for Frankfurt)
FXAA
No shadows on scenery
High amount of objects
Medium reflection details
Parking ACFT
all @1080p so 1920x1080

My system specs:
Windows 10 Pro 64bit (or x64 as you wrote smile) - i7-6700k @Stock which means 4Ghz and 4,2Ghz on Turboboost - 16GB RAM clocked at 3200Mhz - MSI RX480 Gaming X 8GB - Saitek Pro Flight Yoke (with one throttle quadrant incl) - Saitek Pro Flight Throttle quadrant (seperate) - Saitek Pro Flight Pedals - (sometimes a Saitek Cyborg X)

Software: X-Plane 11.11r2 - JD A330 v2.2R2 with Blue Sky Star RR700 soundpack - nothing from Flightfactor (A320 coming soon big_smile ) - Navigraph Simlink - AutoGate v1.72 - Better Pushback v0.45 or 46 (hard to see) - Ground Handling - Sim Coders Headshake 1.7 - X-Life - X-RAAS 2.0.3 (recommended !) - XSBMsgSound 0.1.1 - XSquawkBox - Landing Speed 2.0.2 - many map related things for MisterX KSFO and KBOS (ground traffic) (both turned off)

ACFT: A330 as mentioned above, free EC 145, free Eurofighter Typhoon (hardly  use them).

Tell me more about TerrainRadar...

Good night (Middle Europe for me, Germany) and happy landings
Yannik

EDIT: no, afaik it's not only about OpenGL, but also about the use of Render Threads: X-Plane has only one render thread, so you're not better of with a Ryzen processor, but with high clock rates. CPU as a limiting factor, so you've got a better cpu smile
EDIT2: Betas if things not work as expected: I'm a Windows Insider, but Windows works fine big_smile

Concerning BSS have a look again if you installed  it correctly. I have no problem with all sounds. (Image of the A330 plugin folder)

SORRY ABOUT THE WRONG IMAGE - NOW CORRECTED

BTW yesterday I experienced a STALL during approach through big cloud formations and crashed on ground because of icing !
(Al this happened in a period of 30 sec.) Unfortunately there was no red warning and sound alarm (as usually occurs in case of icing)

Hi Yannik,

TerrainRadar ist a donation plugin supporting many aircrafts such as the Zibo Boeing 738 or the JD A330.

I already downloaded X-RAAS a few weeks ago. I will give it a try as soon as all other plugins are working properly.

I will deactivate my additional plugins for testing now. Should I find out something worth mentioning I will report it.

Flew yesterday from EDDS (Stuttgart) to EDDC (Dresden) without any problems: no right engine shutdown on descend, everything worked just fine.
Eugeny, by the way, as far as I know it's "Flaps 1 + F" on ground, but in the air it's "Flaps 1" only. In other words: 1+F results in Slats and Flaps extension, while 1 only makes Slats extend; Flaps stay at 0°.

Hello,

as mentioned above I deactivated all my optional plugins and put them back one by one. I performed several flights until then and no "right engine shutdown" any more! I suspect "better pushback", but can not verify that. I updated  TerrainRadar to the newest version - maybe it was that. Nevertheless, everything seems to be working correctly now. Waiting for Vulkan and V3! smile
