Topic: PAKT creation crash

Hello, I tried to do my first taxi route setup but the sim crashes every time I start up Xlife with this airport.

Any advice will be appreciated.

*Edit* It even crashes now when I removed the .dat file from plugins and try to start up xlife sad

Were there crashes prior to X-Life? Have you used xlife with other airports and not had crashes? Where did you store the .dat file? Make sure its in X-Life "Airports" folder.

Were there crashes prior to X-Life? Have you used xlife with other airports and not had crashes? Where did you store the .dat file? Make sure its in X-Life "Airports" folder.

Also I see two possible issues in your layout .dat  1. GA gate planes 1-6 are facing the wrong way for a pushback situation. Face the planes the opposite way. The "Ramp start" gate planes are facing the proper direction. 2. Join your ATC taxi route lines A and B to the beginning and ending runway nodes not away from them. Just merge those nodes together at each end of the runway. I would suggest moving the runway nodes a little ways forward from the yellow "blast areas" Look at the video on the 1st page of Custom ATC Routes. Not sure if this is the source of your crashes, but try all of my suggestions. Regards, cmck

Thanks for the replies. I have fixed the .dat but it still crashes, it even crashes without the .dat file in the airports folder when I run xlife ( at PAKT ). I have had no other crashes at all, even at airports not included in the list / airports folder.

So there must be an issue with the PAKT scenery if no other crashes occur using other airports. Where did you get that scenery from? I always get my sceneries from the WED gateway and add the buildings, terminals, and ATC routes myself if I have to. Sometimes there are sceneries with everything included on the gateway. Also what version of X life are you using? The most current is 4b. Update to that version if you don't have it already. cmck

The magic trick to fix anytime you are developing and you can't get out of the jam run the installer and it will fix the bad files, and you do have to know what you are doing because, there are some files you might want to leave in place i.e. SMP-3 files...
