Topic: Request: CYVR Vancouver or KSEA Seattle

Hello!

As a resident of the Pacific Northwest and someone still figuring out X-Life and WED, I thought I'd put in a friendly request for those that are adding new Airports to X-Life to please consider the US/Canada Northwest airports - thank you!

Do you have a link to the scenery you are using OR are you just using the one at the Gateway

Re: Request: CYVR Vancouver or KSEA Seattle

For CYVR I use and like 43186 freeware:

https://gateway.x-plane.com/scenery/page/CYVR

For KSEA Seattle Tacoma I have just used the X-Plane default (I think it is a comprehensive one in the demo area, not sure).

Thanks,
FF

Will see what I can whip up tonight and post here when I am done.

Edit: Going to take me a few days. Bigger than I thought.

Thanks - that looks great. You're right, that is a better CYVR, although a lot of dependencies.

mustang60348 - thank you for trying this, and don't worry about the when, I had a look at those airports and they were just too complicated for my first WED editing attempt. Anything you can do is appreciated.

Got the South Terminal stuff done. Got most of the taxiways done, just adding gates now in the North Terminal.

Re: Request: CYVR Vancouver or KSEA Seattle

Here is my "Beta" of CYVR. I used the .dsf from the Gateway. This is my first attempt at a full airport.

Please give feedback on stuff that is missing. Right now I put in 51 Gateways for AI Traffic.

Note: Files updated to fix some bugs (hopefully)

Re: Request: CYVR Vancouver or KSEA Seattle

It works, I'm just sorting out my scenery.

I had this one enabled CVYR 4.5:

http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/fi … l-airport/

..but it has a lot of statics already in place, so I put the 43186 CYVR gateway scenery back.

I also use http://www.alpilotx.net/ HD scenery mesh, so will disable that and use stock, as I think some of the taxi ways are overwritten by grass - I'll check to make sure.

On letting traffic run for a while, a couple of things of note:

- A A380 had some trouble getting on to 26R. It went via M7 but then turned right to try to then 180 back to 260.

EDIT: It seems all like to turn right here, so that might be a node placement thing? See attachment.

..about 50% of the time they can't quite line up with the runway and disappear.

- This might be an X-life weather thing, but a flight used the 31 cross runway to take off, which in real-life is quite unusual (unless there is a hefty cross-wind). 26R /08L is the usual take-off and 26L/08R the landing. I've ticked them off in the Gates editor, but wanted to check that's the right thing to do.

- Runway 31 seems to be marked a good 50 meters to the right of the scenery, as planes take off to the right of 31 on the grass.

- I don't know if this is an airport issue, but some stands seem to be overlap the taxiways, i.e. Taxiway J is pretty crushed:

I'll get my scenery sorted out a bit more and monitor.

Thanks again for doing this!

Re: Request: CYVR Vancouver or KSEA Seattle

Will have a look at that area on the taxiway tomorrow.

Note: Did some re-arranging of nodes and followed the devs suggestions about multiple nodes being replaced with one node. Seems to be working much better now. Will re-up when I get home from work tonight.

Re: Request: CYVR Vancouver or KSEA Seattle

Good day,
yes, I would like this PANC and the one that has the lake beside it set-up for the Beaver landings (LakeHood-strip), and MisterX6 PAJN, PAMR.

Now I know this is a tall order but if we are going to populate X-Life these airports are on the top of my list of fly in's...
thank-you for your work on the project.
Brian

Happy to test any updates when you have them. It was great too see some CYVR traffic so far.
