What is not covered in that video are Ramp Starts. It gave me several headaches (i was not that much familiar with WED) until i realized there is something called Ramp Start which is exactly what it is (stand, gate etc. on apron where aircraft parks). Obviously that video is targeted for aiport developers, not at the people who are not airport developer but would like to make ATC network for their favorite airport.

If you are making airport .dat for X-life based on existing airport data it is high possibility that ramp starts are already there. In such case you can just select them, duplicate and move them to your airport .dat in WED. Don't forget to make sure every ramp start is connected to ATC taxiways and runways network (otherwise aicraft won't move from such ramp start as it is off-network).
