Topic: Custom ATC Routes - Question

Hello x-life friends,
First: x-life is a great tool - thanks for that, and thanks to all beta-testers.
Well, I would like to generate traffic at small airports.
To my understanding; what requires x-life to generate traffic? Ok, custom atc routes, but what is also important?
Have atc routes created for the airport LSZF-Birrfeld in Switzerland. But unfortunately produces x-life no traffic - but the planes are positioned. I have also created custom atc routes for LSZR-Altenrhein in Switzerland and EDNY-Friedrichshafen. On these airports is a lot of traffic. What can be the reason?
Thanks for your help.

Best regards
Willi

Hi!
The reason this is  the LSZR and EDNY it's airfields on ICAO classification. There is no completley procedures for this fields, only obstacles chart. But the basis of traffic it's SID and STAR, I can't tells you all of the process how the traffics works, it a secret, but I will say that in future this problem will be resolved.

Before turning on the traffic set the gates busy slider to about halfway and the traffic density slider. If you max out both sliders to the right you probably won't see activity because your computer can't handle the load. Try moving the sliders back and then turn on the traffic. Different airports may require different settings you will have to experiment. Also make sure you have all gates checked in the gates editor and save the text file that tells X-Life what types of planes to load at the gates you want. If you still have trouble post your .dat file of LSZF will be happy to check it. Cheers cmck

Re: Custom ATC Routes - Question

Hello x-life friends,

thanks a lot for your response.
Ok, I think I understand it now. X-life needs the SID and STAR information to generate traffic - I think that's logical.
This information is not available for LSZF.
Another reason could be; there is no weather information for LSZF at NOAA. Weather for LSZF is basically the weather of LSZH Zurich. There is only an error message in the weather file for LSZF.
I would upload my files, but I don't know how...

Best regards
Willi
