Hi captbullet,

thatnks for taking a look. log.txt file should be attached.

Thanks again, ben.

I can't figure out what's causing it. The only thing I've done recently is update the AIRAC to 1604. The FMC in both the A320 and A330 show this correctly and I have no issues creating, saving then importing my own flight plans from Rfinder for example. The issue seems to lie with XLife and the way it's creating the flightplans.

I can also save flight plans from Rfinder in the Xlife flightplans folder and import them.

Another issue that came to light today is that the XLD flight planner will now not export data to the FMC?
Any ideas?

Thanks, Ben.

Hi ilankrt,

That's what I'm doing for the time being, but i'd like to use XLD again to create the flight plan as when you export to ATC it gives you sids and stars.

It was working fine as well - I think it's probably something i've done wrong when updating my AIRAC data but hopefully captbullet will be able to tell from my logfile.

Thanks, Ben.

Re: X-Life ver 1.0 (rc1, r1, ++)

Hello JAR-Team,
Testflight LFML - EDDS all ok.
If ATC gives a new frequenz, the frequenz should speak in single numbers, e.g. 123,750 --> one two tree "decimal" seven five zero

This addon is marvelouse!

Re: X-Life ver 1.0 (rc1, r1, ++)

EGLL to LIRF in the current version of the A320 NEO.  No issues to report.  All worked as it should.

Test flight EDDN - LOWG
X-Plane 10.45
X-Life 1.1b2
B747-800
iMac27

1. I couldn't import the flight plan into the B748 FMC, so I had to write myself the data on the route page.
2. EDDN X-Plane airport scenery is not well prepared to handle jumbo jets, although in the real world they are landing there since 1970!
3. XL CENTER advice for landing false! It advices to land ILS on 35R which is a grass strip ! Further on it instructed descending to 5000 ft, while after changing to APPROACH the instruction changes to 11.000 ft. That distracted completely the B748 APPR plan.  ILS didn't capture and I had to fly manually a go-around to catch ILS. LX ATC didn't notice that I flew over runway instead to land. (Don't know if it can be programed..)
4 On FMC  I chose  the only ILS STAR  to 35C. After landing I got  ATC warning aircraft didn't  leave runway .... (XL looked after me on 35R)
5 Accordingly I couldn't initiate  FollowMe car ....

Hello developers !
X-life When will support AI Custom Ground Route and FlightPlan?

Re: X-Life ver 1.0 (rc1, r1, ++)

Hi devs and simmers!

First of all, thank you for this plugin. I mostly fly online on IVAO, where an opportunity to experience full traffic and ATC is still rare, so it's definitely a very wanted addition!

Here are some of my thoughts (and excuse me if I inadvertently repeat some of the earlier posts, I read most of this thread but not all of it):

1. I noticed a lot of folks complaining about X-life and Skymaxxx pro compatibility, and I can confirm I got a very frequent CTD with the first few flights, but after disabling the real weather option in X-plane, the problem stopped. It's also OK when I use an external weather engine - UltraWx from EFASS. Skymaxxx pro is woring, weather is realistic and X-life can read it correctly. I think the best solution is to give up the real weather option in X-plane and just go for an external METAR source like UltraWx or Real Weather Connector (that came out today)

2. It's cool that X-life ATC will provide you with a SID and a correct initial climb altitude, but it still needs work in approach phase. I tested it from LOWI to LOWS (high mountains all around), and I noticed that the AI aircraft were not using the correct approach to rwy08 (that leads through mountain valley), but instead the descended way too low and flew right in the mountains. At approach to LOWS I got a correct STAR from ATC, but also I got a clearance to descent to final altitude of 4000 ft way to early - if I followed this instruction, and the STAR, I would crash into the mountains for sure. So there is still some work to do when it comes to correct altitudes and AI following STARS, I think.

3. I think this was mentioned before, but indeed you receive ILS clearance to the runway that has no ILS.

4. I don't know how the AI aircraft is chosen, but I mostly seem to get a lot of C172 (it's not that strange actually), 727, embraer 170 and fokker-50, and nothing beyond that. Ocasionally a 767, but it's very rare. I never saw any airbus or boeing 737at major european airports, which makes it a bit unrealistic. I have opensceneryX installed, but was wondering if there is maybe a way to add more AI aircraft or tweak the settings?

5. When I flew from EPWA to LOWW, I never got any request to switch center frequency when leaving Warsaw or Prague CTR. I don't know if that's a bug, or if switching center frequencies is not implemented.

I think that's all for now, of course there are a lot of things that can be added (like requesting different flight levels, or DIR TO waypoints), but all in it's time I hope. Keep up the good work!

You are right, we all experienced similar occurrences. I think that such reports are very useful for the developer to get an idea
what to fix and what are our expectations as XL user. I think that we agree that this add-on can take X-Plane to another better place.

Concerning online ATC flights with IVAO or VATSIM, I must say that I am disappointed. Flying over Europe I was often alone in the sky missing controllers at the target airports. At most airports there was only few if at all traffic. A good programed AI in XL could be more than only an "additional" alternative...

Concerning the weather engine, I have not great expectations from the new coming "Real weather connector", because of the way SkyMaxx pro3.1 was programed. On the other side I have no experience with UltraWx, but I am going now to try it out. What I don't understand is how exactly UltraWx is working together with XL ?

Re: X-Life ver 1.0 (rc1, r1, ++)

Here's a small bug. Completed a successful flight.  Change planes at arrival airport. File new flight plan. Now there's no sound coming from the ATC center, just the window with the usual instructions. Nevertheless, that flight also went great despite no sound.

Well, just downloaded real weather connector, so I'll give it a spin. It is supposed to be quite a game changer, no more sudden weather shifts, which is sometimes very, very troublesome.
As for UltraWx - it is a weather engine, that can replace default X-plane engine. It does not change anything visually, it just simulates cloud layers, winds, temperature and so on. Therefore it can supplement visual enhancements, such as Skymaxxx, and they both work together quite well - a lot better than default X-Plane real weather IMO. I was worried, that X-life may not be able to read weather data from this different source, but it seems to work just fine.

slasko79 - is there a manual that specifies the location of additional aircraft? I have the full package from opensceneryX, and it seems to have lots of different aircraft, but still only a few of those show up in X-life.

Good day,

can you try different settings (in X-Life settings) in the timing of runway time as 1 and 1/2 mins this is the setting I use and if you take to long at the gate starting things it can effect the timing so I would try some more of the same route and with different settings also do a back route to get the computer use to the route.

some of this is trial and error and only you can do the testing on your computer because of the specks on the computer build.
i hope this helps you to understand the nature of how this plugin works its tuned to your computer...

Has anyone made a test flight to LZSA? Maybe someone is also willing to test this airport using XL?

Strange enough this airport is not on the list of NAVIGRAPH charts data base!
On A320 FMC trying to define STAR doesn't work - no RWY to choose.

I got AIRAC data from "AIP Switzerland" (http://www.lugano qualification.ch/files/lsza_aip_0813.pdf) and added them to my route but without RWY data I got a mess already at the beginning of my flight, as the FMC sent wrong data to AP.....

I mention LSZA because it is one of the prepared airports to use with XL.

At least after (bad) landing on this short RWY, X-Plane crashed:

To be possible import/export plan to/from aircraft it should support ICAO-format plan transfering. Need time for aircraft developers to add this ability.

You can open Gate Editor and select (and save) runways for departure/arrivals (exclude grass runway as example)

If XLD generate plan wrong please post FROM/TO airports - i will check

If you cant call follow me car and this is stable, please contact me direct via skype for checking.

Sure, need to be out of runway (and out of runway hold short) before you report runway vacated to ATC

About FlightPlan. Now XL use OpenSceneryX what have a limited number of liveries. This is why X-Life freeware traffic not allow to build custom shedule - there is no enought liveeries exist. Will see, may be we need create own aitcraft/liveries libraries.

I think that's all for now, of course there are a lot of things that can be added (like requesting different flight levels, or DIR TO waypoints), but all in it's time I hope. Keep up the good work!

XL read weather from NOAA servers. All weather engine what read realweather from internet should give the same result - compatible.

ATC not so much clever to understand where is mountains may cross flightplans. If (if) i will do more details SID/STAR calculation for AI aircrafts working well on-the-fly - this situation will be improved.

Yes, only ILS now.. I should work on this.

OSX limitation.

So.. I have not ideas how to get Centers lost for Europe (as example). This not included to NavData. May be someone can explain this?

- is there a manual that specifies the location of additional aircraft? I have the full package from opensceneryX, and it seems to have lots of different aircraft, but still only a few of those show up in X-life.

Now (this time) XL read aircraft objects from OpenSceneryX folder olny.

Here is a problem I have , when the aircraft take off, ANOTHER aircraft is glued to the underside of it.

Good day,
As, too number five I do not think it is a bug but it is not implemented I have had the same issue the radio is silent as there should be a transfer...
Thank-you as I do believe someone else has pointed this out and it got lost in the fast moving development of XL...
