Topic: v.3.1 beta 1, 2, 3 public beta-tests

Intro: As you know may be, we work on JD340 new project. One of important part of aircraft procedures is Checklists / Anounces. Sure, this already work with some way at our JD320/330, but I am not glad 100% with this. So, for JD340 we should prepare some more interesting thing. it is animated copilot, as I dreamed. This one. We just build this plugin and include it as free update to beta version of JD330 - we absolutely need to test it with "live" aircraft to understand is it good way or not. If it will be Ok, we will include it to our 340 in future.

This is next public version of a330 for X-Plane 11. Please take part in this beta-tests if you really want be beta-tester. If you want fly-ready product - please just wait.

Main improvement - new Checklist/Events/SOP/, based on instant CoPilot plugin

beta 1 features:
+ animated 3d CoPilot model
+ can recognize and execute command
+ can speak
+ can read checklists
+ can operate with Events (flight parameters detection)
+ can execute SOP (Normal Procedures, Limited)
+ man and woman copilot model (woman only included this time)
+ scripts based (possible to edit/change Procedures/Text/etc)
+ some aircrafts bugs fixed
- some procedures was not tested well (will fix with next beta)

beta 2:
+ some procedures improved
+ public beta published

beta 3:
+ some kind of crashes fixed
+ fmgs improved (Maximum FL indication, Second flight ready w/o reload, click sound repair)

Additional req:
You should have:
- microphone or
- headset (preferable)

HOW TO INSTALL:

Please not mix files with other version.
You may install aircraft at separate folder and use both - old and new version.

You need (absolutely) to have microphone or headset to try this beta and take part.

You need (absolutely) read and follow setup info (two next post).

Please avoid publish message like "Crash on loading" or like this tithout any details. This will really not helpful and not need on beta test stage. Please understand this.

In the case of wrong voice recognition setup crash on loading stage may happen. Please be ready to contact JAR via skype j.a.romanov to demonstrate how this going and make real fix for this by our crew.

Please install Ground Handling plugin to be well-compatible with XP11

  - be sure, that you use X-Plane 11.20-11.26
  - copy unziped "JD330_v3" folder to ..\X-Plane 10\Aircraft\ folder
    (be sure, what you are not use nonEnglish symbols in aircraft installation path)
  - please visit download more fresh version of Ground Handling plugin. It work with JARDesign 330 without registration (for free). Please note what “Deluxe” version of this plugin (may work with other aircrafts) is payware.
  - start X-Plane 64 bit and open a330, activation window is going to show up
  - enter your serial key (use exist serial from "JD330 for X-Plane 11"), click NEXT and after a successful activation reopen aircraft via X-Plane menu
  - activation works well with both MAC/WIN 64 bit

If activation window not appear, there is 3 reasons may be for this -
- Check what you use computer under Admin mode.
- You use Windows 7 or 8 or 10. In this case, please install "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2010" pack http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download … x?id=14632 , and also install more fresh JAVA.

UPDATE YOU NAV DATA WITH FRESH CYCLE (if needed)
a330 use NavData from
../X-PLANE 11/Custom Data/GNS430/navdata/ folder
if not find there – will try to read it from
../X-PLANE 11/Aircraft/330_JARDesign/_navdata/
If you need update your cycle, please use Aerosoft/Navigraph
- “JARDesign a320/330 Native format” or (the same in fact)
- “XPLANE_GNS430_777WORLDLINER_FF757PROF_NATIVE”
and put new cycle to ..X-PLANE 10/Custom Data/navdata/ folder

Please note what this time we have beta of JD330 ("beta" - product for testing and may not work well, hare errors and so on). If you need release, need stable version, please wait.

- you may post you opinion about this version, post what you like/unlike
- please post your log.txt if Crash happen.

Please care about information what you will post here and try to determinate reason if issues happen  - sure, he interesting in aircraft test and troubles but want to avoid work with "pilot" issues.

Copilot can recognize your speech. To make this possible you need setup your computer and microphone.

Please use new Menu to setup CoPilot speech Volume, Rate (speed of speaking), Select voice.

You may speak with CoPilot via voice or select commands via Menu:

If you prefer voice control, you need setup special joystick (sure, keyboard may be used too) button to jd/CommandRec.

You may look at CoPilot, hold this joystick button and say something like "Hello!" Typical pattern - press the button, say the text, release the button.

Speech will be recognize by Windows/Mac speech recognition system. Copilot will understand your command. If you need to know what command may be used (actual commands list of phrases) - please open A330 -> CoPilot -> Commands

Additional voice commands:
"Abort" - CoPilot will break current execution flow (break checklist execution, as example)
"Skip"   - CoPilot will skip current execution line (not expect User voice/procedure entering more)

Script system description.. (not need to know for regular users)

The CoPilot plugin script system has two entities - events and commands.

EVENTS (.txt files at ../copilot_main/custom/events/ folder)

Event text file describe the list of conditions under which an event occurs, the list of actions that the pilot will execute when an event occurs, conditions for resetting event.

Example: PositiveClimb.txt - CoPilot will look at list of datarefs and will say "Positive Climb!" if aircraft have takeoff flight phase, airbone at leasr 25 ft, have positive acceleration and vertical speed more than 500 FT/MIN

#EVENT CONDITIONS

Command text file describe the list of voice input phrases to activate this command, the list of actions that the pilot will execute when this command will recognize.

Example: If user say Hello - CoPilot will answer "Hello, World!"

pause:1.5 - CoPilot will just wait (do nothing) 1.5 seconds.

drf:
drf:jd/fo/_planshet=0 - Will set "jd/fo/_planshet" dataref value to 0. Float/Integer/Double datarefs type supported. Array datarefs supported.

waitdrf:
waitdrf:sim/flightmodel/engine/ENGN_N1_[0]>20 - CoPilot will wait until "sim/flightmodel/engine/ENGN_N1_[0]" dataref value will be more than 20 (N1 of engine 1)

execute:
execute:Checklist/BeforeStart
Clear current execution flow and begin to execute script from ../custom/execute/checklist/BeforeStart.txt

waitanswer:
waitanswer:ANY - Copilot will wait untill any text was saying and recognize

waitanswer:Check - Copilot will wait untill "Check" was saying and recognize

Just tried it out. It is absolutely genius! It works pretty well even without a microphone on my iMac but I would highly recommend one anyway. I love that it can be customized. I am aiming at not using FlyWithLua scripts at all anymore with this plane.
And I will definitely get the A340. Can’t wait!

As you know, Airbus procedures based on English - SOP, Checklists - all use English only. And for this aircraft - English only can be used. For other aircrafts (future task) - we will look what we can do.

I tryed with different microphones too. Standart MAC microphone work well too for me. Sure, best thing is headset, you are right, cause in this case mic not get engines and other aircraft sounds.

I use X-plane 11.30b1 and W10 … When launching XP with A330 Copilot aircraft appeared on screen and then CTD …so i have not got the possibility to enter serial number ...

Currently it is not possible to add a file to the post … (log.txt , fmgs.dmp…)

Hi Jar,

same happens for me, as well. I am using XP 11.26 official release version, Win 10, .Net 2010 installed and actual working java. Not able/ permission to attach fmgs.dmp file here.

Hi Jar,

same happens for me, as well. I am using XP 11.26 official release version, Win 10, .Net 2010 installed and actual working java. Not able/ permission to attach fmgs.dmp file here.

Using iMac mic is a bad solution. I am using a head set and it works perfectly. In my last recording I forgot to activate my microphone. Now it works fluently. While using certain audio sources at the same time (aircraft engines, X-Life ATC, X-ATC-Chatter, microphone, co-pilot and Sound MAXX) it is important do adjust them all for having good cockpit sound....

Agree completely, I just didn't want to discourage people who don't have a headset from trying this out. It is absolutely phenomenal.

I just completed my first flight with Lynda and overall I'm very impressed, I will post something to the FB page later.

I found the set up to be very easy, just two buttons needed to make it work.

I would suggest that you recommend users to have a printed .PDF file with all commands and responses. I have a one sheet Airbus checklist and this made it very easy to issue commands and to predict the responses.

Small issues:

1. The read-back got stuck in a loop repeating commands in two checklists, after start and before take off.  I don't know why but it exited the loop after a few annoying minutes. :-) NOTE: THE LOOP HAPPENS BECAUSE THE F/O NEVER COMPLETES THE FLIGHT CONTROL CHECK. THERE WAS NO RUDDER CHECK....

2. I found the read-back text hard to read. Perhaps this could be put in a window or have a different colour background.

3. There's quite a delay between issuing a command and a response. This makes it seem like the command hasn't been heard when it had.

4. I did load the aircraft into 11.30 Beta afterwards just too see. The manipulators are not working properly, for example it was not possible to put the IRS's into NAV mode.

Great work guys though, this shows huge promise!

Just to make you aware:
As soon as I turn on the WXR i noticed this grey box appearing in the ND; if i switch it off, its gone again. So repeatable.
